The WBM is actively seeking new bookselling members from all countries in the world.

There are no restrictions in this on size or type of operation, stock type (except for PODS, which we do not accept), new books vs used, with or without a B&M, or anything of that nature.

What restrictions there are consist of matters of quality of service and customer guarantees. Just about any serious and careful online bookseller will qualify for our group.

It should be taken into account by any bookshop interested in joining the co-operative that many of the other Members will be happily hosting your book listings on their own, private websites.

Partly for that reason we require adherence to certain standards in every listing e.g. they must contain a Binding field, accurate Condition reports, an Edition field (where known or stated) and so on, and this data must be maintained accurately and faithfully by the Member.

The World Book Market is not simply another "listing service" or co-operative book-listing pool. Quite apart from listing your books at the site, you will gain a whole raft of new software tools and utilities as a Member, assisting your listing at all your other bookselling sites, as well as this one.

Members also agree to act (within reason) as the physical Agent or representative for all the other Members in their designated region or city in matters such as any WBM books going astray or missing, or turning up allegedly "not as described".

In exchange for which service, of course, each Member has the guarantee of all the other Members in all of their various designated regions to act on behalf of his or her books and other offerings where problems have arisen.

These inputs are rarely needed or requested of each other by Members, but have proven absolute life-savers whenever they have been required - as they will for you in turn, if you become a member.

No great technical expertise is necessarily required of a Member, since all or most functions of the pooled website software operations are fully automated and template-driven.
