Can my bookstore become a member?
The World Book Market (WBM) is actively seeking new bookseller members to join our growing band of members.
Although we began as a purely B&M (physical bookstore) group, we have now opened up our Membership to booksellers of all shapes, types and sizes, whether situated in a physical store or not.
To become a new Member of the World Book Market you need to send us the Application Form which can be found
here, which is then assessed by a peer group of existing Members.
Before doing that, you should spend some time looking at other pages in this website e.g. Member Benefits and Membership Fees, and also perhaps pay a visit to our Visitors Forum at
www.worldbookmarket.com/forum where you will find a wealth of extra information and bookseller discussion about the WBM and its current and future plans.
We are looking for compatible bookseller-members, with a clear commitment to quality of listings, care with descriptions, and a proven track record of good service to customers.
For a more detailed view as to what type of bookseller we are seeking (and perhaps those we are not!) you can see our
WBM Listing Policies by clicking
here.
If your Application is successful, you will be enrolled with a member Account at the WBM, and will be given access to your member Dashboard from which you can start accessing all the software tools and routines available free to all Members. You can also use this Dashboard to start uploading your listings and pictures to the WBM.
What benefits does a WBM Member get upon joining?
These cover a wide range of software tools and resources, as well as access to a sophisticated Helpdesk environment for technical support on issues concerning online bookselling generally (not just WBM software matters).

The World Book Market (WBM) was started in 2004 as a co-operative by a small group of booksellers in the UK, the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
It was felt by those booksellers that the existing, larger bookselling sites lacked key ingredients of customer satisfaction guarantees and of quality-based book listings
Our idea was to create a pool of dedicated and quality-conscious booksellers, and to maintain those standards by way of screening all prospective new members to ensure they matched these initial standards we had set.
Since then, the co-operative has quietly grown every year, and now has nearly 70 members spread across most major bookselling countries in the world.
As well as providing a superior customer service, the group also works to create special and sophisticated software routines for its members to assist their book listing activities not only at our own site, but at all the other sites where our members upload and display their books.
Our Members consequently are offered a very powerful books-listing database; automated data and picture forwarding routines to all their other sites; capacity to send variable data to different sites from the same source data, and a veritable host of other software tools and benefits friendly to their bookselling businesses.

The World Book Market has built for itself in its short life-span a highly-respected position in the online bookselling world, and its reputation is high amongst our large body of dedicated customers, and the bookselling community in general.
